DJI is a Chinese-based tech company specializing in building consumer drones, stabilizers, gimbals, action cameras, flight control systems, propulsion systems, and flight platforms.

Currently, DJI holds more than 70% of the consumer-drone market share worldwide. That’s pretty huge comparing none of the other drone companies holds more than 5%.

Omnidirectional Digital Radar:
The DJI AGRAS T20 drone is equipped with a 360 degree 3D omnidirectional digital radar that can detect all kinds of obstacles and nuisances within the drone’s path.
By detecting these obstacles, the T20 can autonomously avoid any damage or obstructions and continues on its path, spraying crops equally and correctly at all times.
FPV Camera and Spotlight:
The T20 drone also comes with a high-quality FPV camera that allows you to monitor the drone’s activities closely. With a field of view of 98 degrees horizontal and 78 degrees vertical, you’ll be able to see everything.
The FPV camera resolution is 1280×960, and it can record videos of up to 30 fps. The drone comes equipped with a high-brightness spotlight to make crop tending possible throughout the day and night.

With a 20L spray tank and high-quality four-channel-independent flow control, the T20 agricultural drone allows even and air-bubble free liquid distribution, whether watering your crops or using insecticides or pesticides.
The AGRAS T20 drone comes with a Spreading System 2.0 technology, which allows it to efficiently spread seeds, fertilizer, pesticides, and nutrients to the crops and plants, making farming and agriculture much more comfortable than before.
How to Set up the AGRAS T20 and the Controller?
In my experience, the setup and flight of the DJI AGRAS T20 were relatively smooth and easy.
However, if you’re new to the field of agricultural drones, then I’d suggest you take a look at this step-by-step setup guide for your flight AGRAS T20 flight.
Step 1: Place the Battery into the Controller–
First, you’re going to charge the controller battery. Once that is done, you’re going to want to place the battery into the controller.
This procedure is as easy as it sounds. Turn the RM500-AG on its back, and you’ll find a button to pressed on the lower end.
Press it, and the cover will pop, insert the battery, click it down, push forward, and your battery will be connected.
Step 2: Turn the Controller on–
If it’s your first time using a DJI remote controller, you’re going to have to press the power button once and then press and hold until the LEDs start blinking, your controller will be turned on.
Another thing that you must know is that now it is time to configure the drone. From logging into your DJI account to set the date and time after connecting to the Wi-Fi, all the initial activities must be done the first time you’re flying.
Step 3: Connect the RTK Dongle into the Controller–
Now It is time to connect the RTK Dongle into the USB-A slot of your remote controller.
The RTK Dongle will be responsible for controlling the GPS and location memory of the drone. Only DJI proprietary RTK dongle is suggested for use.

Excluding the battery of the AGRAS T20, the weight of the overall drone is 21.1 kilograms.
The spray tank has a maximum capacity of 20L, while the standard takeoff weight is 42.6 kg.
So, you should check the total weight of the drone before takeoff. If you’re curious about how much it can safely weigh, the maximum weight capacity is 47.5 kg, and you should make sure it doesn’t consider more than this.
Step 5: Map the Operation Area–
The most optimal way of planning the operation area is through the use of the RTK dongle. We’ve connected it to the remote controller. Now it’s time to map the operation area.
Go to the home screen and choose Plan a Field, now select RTK dongle. Then you’re going to walk with the RTK. Once the configuration is complete, go to settings, choose RTK source and wait until the system status bar turns green.

We’re familiar with all the incredible features of the AGRAS T20, but are they beneficial to a high-end agricultural company?
Let’s answer that question with a list of all the fantastic advantages this drone comes with.
Incredible Spraying Performance:
Many of the agricultural drones I’ve used in the past had minimal spraying capability, which led to longer spraying times and less-efficient results. But the AGRAS T20 with eight nozzles allows me to spray over 6 liters per minute.
This makes the entire process of the crop spraying much more efficient and makes the drone’s performance incredibly superior to other drones of a similar price point.
When agricultural drones face severe winds, the high-charging parts may come off or breakdown. That’s not the case with the DJI AGRAS T20 drone, though, because of its robust nature.
The drone is incredibly durable, healthy, and long-lasting. This means that even severe winds won’t be able to knock it out. And the autonomous nature will make sure it avoids any obstacle contact at all times.
Usually, the agricultural drones I’ve used in the past are gigantic; they aren’t mobile. They can’t be taken from one place to another without requiring a large trailer truck.
But the T20 drone comes with a unique compaction capability where it can be folded into a smaller overall size. You can fit two of these in the back of your 4×4 truck.
Agricultural drones need to be stable in flight because, unlike consumer drones, these drones cannot experience crashes mid-flight casually.
The AGRAS T20 understands this matter and comes with a highly stable and smart motor system that allows it to stay centimeters above the crops with finesse to spray appropriately.
Flight Modes and Operation Modes:
Most agricultural drones are just bare bone sprayers that you’re going to have to control on your own. That’s not the case with the T20 spraying drone, though.

The DJI AGRAS T20 is a wonderful drone. But as they say, nothing is perfect. Let’s take a look at some problems and demerits you’re going to encounter with the T20 agricultural drone.
If you’re someone who’s a fan of consumer drones, and you’re thinking of getting the DJI AGRAS T20 drone for your garden crops or maybe your village field, I’m afraid this isn’t going to be easy for you to control.
The drone is not very beginner-friendly. It does the work of multiple human laborers, which means that you’d need proper training before you can successfully use the DJI AGRAS T20 for crop tending.
High Price Point:
Another big concern that most people will face is that it’s not an inexpensive drone.
Sure, if you own a high-end agricultural company, you can afford it, but if you own a smaller business, you won’t be able entirely to afford it.
Parrot Bluegrass Fields Agricultural Drone- Good and Cheap Alternative to DJI AGRAS T20:
As always I do think about an alternative so according to me Parrot Bluegrass Agricultural Drone is the best alternative to our DJI AGRAS T20 drone.
If you’re not looking to completely go autonomous with your crop tending, and you’re thinking of taking slow steps then the Parrot Bluegrass Fields Agricultural Drone might just be what you’re looking for in a decent price.
